Background

Prior to 20 years' experience as a technical and legal translator, Walter Popp practised administrative law as an associate in a law firm in Mannheim. After one year spent on postgraduate legal studies at the University of Cambridge, UK, in 1974, an early interest in computers led him to participate in a field research program on 'Artificial Intelligence in Law' jointly financed by the DFG and the DAAD in 1975.

Specialised in software and hardware localisation for the account of leading computer companies, Walter Popp has developed his activity as a localization consultant and as a translation project coordinator.
